Thunderbolt Black is our lightest and most high-performance based technology. The board is laminated with carbon fiber, which quickens its rebound rate and adds durability without significantly increasing the weight. Thunderbolt black blank construction features fiberglass internal flex components. Hand laminated with 6oz carbon fiber x 2oz fiberglass cloth on both the top and bottom. Thunderbolt black construction is typically light weight with our quickest rebound rate which makes this construction the most responsive in our range. Thunderbolt Black construction is designed for any surfer seeking to maximize performance on a board that delivers durability, speed and control in a wide variety of conditions.
Thunderbolt Red was our first technology and works beautifully in all conditions. Our Red blank construction features carbon fiber internal flex components hand laminated with 6oz x 2oz fiberglass cloth on both the top and bottom. Red is incredibly versatile with a medium amount of rebound which makes this construction amazingly user friendly and predictable. Thunderbolt Red construction is designed for any surfer looking for all around performance and feel in a wide variety of conditions.
Thunderbolt Silver was designed to offer a well-balanced blend of traditional performance, flex, and durability. Our Silver blank construction features fiberglass internal flex components hand laminated with 6oz x 2oz fiberglass cloth on both the top and bottom. Although Thunderbolt Silver is the most “traditional” feeling technology we offer it does still have the most amount of flex which turns up the performance value way beyond any PU board on the market. Thunderbolt Silver construction is versatile and predictable making it suitable for a wide variety of wave conditions and skill levels. If you love the feeling of a traditional PU surfboard and want to turn up its natural performance value than this is a great technology for you.
The DOUBLE SCOOP is our radical new design puts a whole new twist to the modern noderider. Inspired from studying the way water flows over the tail during a noseride, this awesome new board allows a narrower tailed more performance single fin without compromising the lift and stability during critical noserides.
Both of these Double Scoop outlines use a spoiler effect (flip) in the deck line, with a deep double concave shaped into the deck through the back 1/3 of the board. This captures the water flow onto the deck whilst in a noseride, and directs the water to engage more with the flip in the tail, thus holding more water (and weight) to create the extra lift and speed control needed for intense, long and stable noserides. This board as been designed off Bens' love and passion for Formula 1. Using the science of aerodynamics and transferring it into this board using hydrodynamics and how to create downforce for lift in the nose.
When stepping back from the noseride you have the curvier more pulled-in tail, combined with the concave behind the fin, to allow for sharper, smoother and more powerful turns.
